BioBack Forty is the only South-East, Michigan band delivering authentic down home funkgrass. Back Forty has a truly original sound. Throw a Funk/Soul bassist in with a Billy Martin style, hard grooving, experimental drummer, mix in two superb singer/song writer guitarists that have been collaborating together for over 7 years, top it off with an insane fiddle player that often switches from a traditional bluegrass fiddle line to a screaming/wah-wah/psychedelic/distortion fiddle solo all in the same song and you have Back Forty. Our eclectic group of musicians is also portrayed in the music. One live set may contain a folk, reggae, blues, rock, bluegrass, and experimentation elements. Back Forty is a very unique band. You will be hard pressed to find another local Michigan band that comes close to our over-all sound. We thrive on the live stage where we fall into spur of the moment experimental jams.
